Precision Bu-Ord Sized Magnetic Clutches & Clutch Brakes
SI builds precision units, Bu-Ors sizes 11 and 18. Our standard catalog offering includes magnetic clutches & clutch brakes, reverse-acting brakes, clutches & clutch brakes, and reverse-acting clutches &clutch brakes.
Precision Magnetic Particle Brakes
Magnetic Particle Brakes are ideal for tension control applications and high cycle applications such as labeling machines for the food and drug industry. Their operating torque range is broad and can be very accurately controlled. Standard catalog units have a voltage of 24V DC, other voltages are available on special order.
Precision Power-Off Brakes
Power-Off Brakes are used to stop or hold a load when electrical power is lost. This type of brake is usually used near an electric motor. Inch and metric power-off brakes are offered in a variety of configurations and are energy efficient, simple to install and economical. Power-off parallel plate brakes are also available at SDP/SI
Precision Flange Mounted Power-On Brakes
Power-On Flange Mounted Brakes are anti-backlash when energized and zero drag when den-energized. Both inch and metric sizes are offered. 24V DC is standard with other voltages available on special order.
Precision Electromagnetic Clutch Couplings
Shaft-Mounted Clutch Couplings are designed for inline loads. Standard voltage is 24V DC, other voltages and dissimilar bore combinations are available as special order.
Precision Unidirectional Roller Clutches
Unidirectional Roller Clutches are designed for use with 1/8 inch to 3/4 inch (4 mm to 35 mm) hardened shafts. These roller clutches are ideal for indexing, backstopping, or overrunning operations. Free rolling one way, drives in opposite direction. They are lightweight, low profile and minimum backlash.
Precision Unidirectional Roller Clutches w/ Bearing Support
Unidirectional Roller Clutches with Bearing Support are designed for use with 3/8 inch to 5/8 inch (4 mm to 6 mm) hardened shafts. Bearing support is sintered bronze bearings. Also offered are metric unidirectional roller clutches with needle bearing support for 8 mm to 35 mm shafts.

Electromagnetic Slip Clutches are offered in a variety of configurations, materials and sizes. Both inch and metric dimensioned slip clutches are available as standard catalog items.
